Matchtech are excited to be working alongside the main contractor on the A30 regional development project (Chiverton Cross to Carland Cross).
As result, we have a live reuqirement for an experienced Highways/Civils Quality Inspector.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Quality Manager you will be responsible for ensuring that the works elements under your control are delivered to the correct quality and in a safe, timely and cost-effective manner. Working collaboratively with the wider project team to deliver successful project outcomes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provide assurance that the works are being constructed and delivered in accordance with drawings, specifications and defined methods
• Carry out inspections/Audits and produce daily reporting and reports
• Witness and approve hold points as required on the ITPs
• Assist the team in the delivery of right first time, providing information to the Quality Manager on the health of the Right First-Time culture within the project, and the aim of having zero defects at handover
• Reinforce and assess the "Right First Time" culture and the goal of the Contractor in aiming to achieve zero defects throughout the project and into Handover
• Assist the Quality Manager in providing coaching and training to all the project team in matters of quality, self???certification and the Right First-Time culture
• Monitor the quality of incoming materials ensuring they meet the required spec and MAR
• Identify trends and highlight areas of concern and recommend improvements to the quality process
• Encourage the early identification of a non???conforming process or poor practice (potential defect, i.e., quality near miss) in a proactive, transparent and no blame environment
• Carry out QTRMs of site delivery quality procedures
• Maintain high personal safety and environmental standards in accordance with company policies and report any standards on the site which are considered by you as inadequate
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
• Civil Engineering related qualification (HNC, HND, BSc MSc, BEng, MEng)
• Minimum 3 years' experience delivering complex structures/roadworks in a similar role
• Site Supervisory Safety Training Scheme SSSTS
• Relevant CSCS Card
• Understanding of Engineering Principles and extensive technical knowledge of construction techniques and best practices
• Knowledge of construction contracts and forms of contract through formal training
• Computer competence (MS Word, Excel, Document control system, Primavera software)
