Yarn Shift Manager

Full Time – Permanent

Founded in 1837 and with our roots in apparel, Abraham Moon & Sons are one of the last remaining vertical woollen mills in Great Britain, with a reputation for consistent quality and innovative design.

We’re now looking for a Shift Manager to oversee all aspects of Health & Safety, quality, service, and cost for the yarn production areas during the shift. You’ll ensure that yarns are manufactured to the highest standards, at the right quantity and at the right time. This will include managing the yarn production team and the reporting of performance and key performance indicators for the yarn production department.

Creating and executing production plans to deliver against customer requirements, you’ll uphold the Moon values through leading by example and managing your team through them. You’ll ensure the health, safety, and welfare of your team through the completion of risk assessments, implementation of actions and monitoring of compliance and plan training activities to ensure your team has the requisite skills and knowledge to perform their duties, keeping the training matrix up to date and relevant. You’ll also complete audits of the workplace to ensure the production areas are safe and clean and monitor spend across labour and materials, taking action which improve cost levels.

We’re looking for someone who has proven experience at Team Leader / Manager level within a FMCG environment and who can successfully demonstrate the ability to manage a team. IT literate, you’ll be an excellent communicator and have a good understanding of safety and quality.

IOSH Managing Safely and a Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt is highly desirable, but not essential.
