Position: Property Surveyor
Location: Harlow, Essex
Salary Package: GBP34,000 to GBP39,000 per annum
Length of Contract: Permanent
Greenacre Recruitment are Recruiting for a Permanent Property Surveyor for a client in Harlow, Essex. The post will provide expert technical support and professional advice in all building maintenance and surveying services and will also manage all major repairs, regeneration works and maintenance within a portfolio of properties ensuring the Client meets its statutory obligations and that the highest standards and good conduct are always maintained.
Key Accountabilities
* The Property Surveyor is responsible for the specification, approval and delivery of major repairs, maintenance voids, aids & adaptions and improvements within a designated locality ensuring works are completed in the most efficient way in accordance with the Clients standards and specifications.
* To act as the Client's Liaison Officer in the Health and Community Wellbeing assessment team in respect of all major and minor disabled adaptations undertaken on Clients owned and managed properties.
* The role holder will be responsible for working collaboratively within property teams to ensure works are delivered in line with the Client's best practice principles and collaborative delivery processes.
* The Property Surveyors should demonstrate that they are delivering at the required cost, time, quality and customer satisfaction performance and that performance is continually improving. This includes undertaking a regular cycle of visits to properties, undertaking post inspections, assisting in void and mutual exchange pre and post inspections, asbestos survey reviews, Fire Risk Assessment reviews and provide general property advice.
* The Property Surveyor will also undertake Stock Condition surveys to inform current and future investment programmes
* To provide specialist technical support and advice in the delivery of planned and routine maintenance and Capital Works contracts and where necessary carry out the role of Contract Administrator in accordance with the Client's Procurement Rules and the terms and conditions of individual contracts.
* Ensure the Client meets its statutory obligations and that the highest standards of probity and good conduct are maintained always.
* Work collaboratively across the organisation to bring about change and improvements to service delivery within finite resources. Take collective responsibility for ensuring excellent services are provided to our residents.
Person Specification
* Qualified to HNC level in Building, electrical or Mechanical Engineering or demonstrable equivalent workplace experience
* Possession of a relevant Housing or Contract Management qualification or equivalent work experience
* CDM Training/Knowledge
* Microsoft Word and Excel training to an intermediate standard
* An industry recognised qualification or experience of an Essex County Council Occupational Therapy Approved Assessor - Desirable
* Fire Risk Assessment (FRA) knowledge/training
* Demonstrate a good understanding of safeguarding issues commensurate with the role.
