Job Title: Pattern Cutter
Location: Leicester
Salary: GBP30k
Shift: Monday - Friday
Type: Permanent
Start Date: ASAP
We are looking for an experienced Pattern Cutter to join the team based in Leicester. This is a fast-growing business and you will be an important part of this team helping to create the more creative and complicated pieces of each new collection.
Duties of a Pattern Cutter
You will be working a wide range of product, from party and evening wear, tailoring, draped pieces, corsetry and everything in between. Some of the responsibilities would involve:
Liaising with the design team to produce first patterns which are true to the designers vision
Handing over patterns and supporting the machinists in producing the first sample
Be involved in fittings when necessary to help fit the garments you are responsible for
Amend patterns for second sample or sending to factories
Keeping blocks updated when necessary
Skills and experience of a Pattern Cutter
As a Pattern Cutter you need have experience with:
Manual pattern cutting
Block manipulation
Draping on the stand
It would be beneficial to the Pattern Cutter role if you also have:
Clear understanding and communication of garment construction and pattern cutting
Knowledge of how to improve the quality of garments to a higher level
Good knowledge on tailoring and basic corsetry
At least 3 years' experience in a similar role
