You'll be working for Saint-Gobain Industrial Ceramics in Rainford, St. Helens. Saint-Gobain Industrial Ceramics is one of more than 30 exciting Saint-Gobain brands in the UK and is a worldwide market leader in ceramic solutions. The company manufactures a variety of refractory products and materials for worldwide applications in metallurgical processing, high temperature processing, chemical, temperature and abrasion resistant applications.

You will be proactive, taking time to provide technical expertise and support in all areas of the business and work on the constant improvement of the QC and QA system. Qualifications required to fulfil the role

Ideally you will be degree educated (or similar level qualification) having specialised in Material Science, Chemistry or similar related subject.
It is desirable but not essential to have previous experience in Quality AssuranceSpecific behaviours we are looking for

A real passion for Quality Control and development projects, the sector you've worked in is not as important but you must be excited by the challenge of working with ceramics materials and understanding how different materials perform in differing situations.
You will be keen to develop yourself and your team to ensure you keep up to date with all tasks to ensure a stable quality of products with high production yield.
You will be as pleased with your own successes as you are in sharing those with the team, and supporting your colleagues with their challenges.Our Technical Manager role is really important to our success and a critical part of our manufacturing processes. Your main responsibilities, amongst other challenging activities, will see you;

play a key role in managing quality control within the plant ensuring the quality (through inspection & testing) of raw materials used in the manufacturing process and finished goods while reducing losses.
Manage new product development and transfers of technology
Identify, implement, utilise, maintain and monitor systems and processes required to optimise production costs in relation to raw materials
Supervise QA by audit planning and supporting the site to improve the Quality and Environmental Management systemAre Saint-Gobain Industrial Ceramics and Saint-Gobain an Inclusive employer?
