This role reports to the Head of Planning and Inventory Control. It's primary purpose is to create and sustain planning processes and governance that ensure maximum stakeholder involvement through the Supply Chain with transparency of key decisions. The role will implement standard planning practices, develop the skill levels of the planning community, recruiting and educating where needed and bring WIP management practices to all Sites with a resulting impact on reducing lead time.

Main Responsibilities

* Implement and Sustain SIOP

* Develop Sales Inventory & Operational Planning process with inbound, outbound, internal and external stakeholders to maximise communication of production plan and optimise production with inventory (WIP & AFS).

* Sustain robust governance process and ensure transparency of decision taken through the supply chain and Financial community.

* Weekly Input and Output Plan & Control

* Provide weekly cadence of upstream and downstream connections with Operations Production Sites to improve transparency of inbound and outbound vehicles and production volumes to all stakeholders.

* Formalise tools and governance processes to manage WIP / Output on daily, weekly cadence at network, site and workcentre level.

* Develop governance processes for the management of Slow Moving WIP to reduce average cumulative leadtime.

* Future Load and Capacity Planning

* Provide monthly governance processes for site capacity increase working with Industrial Capability Development Team.

* Provide governance of risk capture and mitigation for short range and long range planning to meet committed production targets.

* Create tools and management processes for the assessment of machine and labour requirements across all sites

* Productivity Monitoring

* With Finance and HR teams develop productivity monitoring tools for all sites such that labour and machine efficiency is understood and can be used to compare sites and make investment / recruitment decisions.

* Use Productivity Monitoring as feedback loop into Future Load and Capacity Plan

* Standard Production Planning Tools

* Take the lead in shaping tools that can be used on all sites for purposes of management at site or workcentre level. Standardise use across sites.

* Develop Planning Community

* Be the focal point for the development of functional and behavioural skill sets for site planning teams.

* Develop formal education programme for Operations Planners.

Essential Skills

* Ability to influence and lead change

* Experience of plant and work centre operational management / planning

* Knowledge of Lean tools and techniques

* Knowledge of Scheduling Systems

* Load and Capacity management with theoretical and practical experience

* Microsoft Excel and other database such as Access at a high competency level

* MRP System knowledge

Desirable Skills

* Experience in maintenance, repair, overhaul, or refurbishment operations
