Summary: The head of a client specialist provision based in Llanishen is looking for a charismatic individual to work as a behaviour support assistant within their year 5 class. The goal of a behaviour support assistant is to engage with students who have challenging behaviours and remove their barriers to learn.

There are 6 pupils within the class and 2 other adults in the room at all times. Pay will be based on experience but will range from GBP70.00 - GBP75.00 per day. Previous experience is desired but not essential; a sports, psychology or youth background can be advantageous for the role.

The School: The specialist provision caters for pupils of primary age that may be diagnosed with autism or co-existing conditions including ADHD, learning difficulties, anxiety, Tourette's syndrome, epilepsy and or challenging behaviour. Based in Llanishen Cardiff, this school is easily accessible through public transport and has parking on arrival for those that drive.

The Successful Behaviour Support Assistant will:

• Have relevant experience in the field

• Have good behaviour management skills

• Have a full UK driving licence

Requirements:

The ideal Behaviour Support Assistant will be enthusiastic and show great behaviour management skills. You will be confident and not be fazed by challenging behaviour in the classroom. Resilience is key for succeeding in this role. You will be expected to work between 9:00am-3:30pm. The school is run by a successful team of supporting staff. The students that attend the client previous experience in PRU or a similar field is essential for this role.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
