INTERFACES
Internal: Senior Project Managers; Project Managers Support Functions; Enabling Functions; Project Teams and Supply Chain External: Clients; Partners, Subcontractors and delivery personnel
What you'll be doing
* Promote and encourage a culture that aligns with and actively supports the BBUS company values.
* Ensure compliance with related vehicle and driver legislation
Implement safety methods both on the road and when loading and unloading heavy cargo.
* Ensuring that daily checks on the road worthiness of allocated vehicles are carried out and documented together with the reporting of any defects identified
* Ensuring that any load on their allocated vehicle is correctly and safely
* Ensuring that the vehicle is operating within its legal weight limits at all times
* Ensure that the prevailing driver's hours regulations (Authorised by a Company
* Nominated Transport Manager) are adhered to at all times. i.e. driving time, duty time, breaks, daily, weekly and fortnightly rests etc.
* May take part in loading and unloading including use of lorry mounted cranes.
* Drives courteously at all times and adheres to driving regulations that apply to their particular vehicle size and load, including speed and load limits.
* Remains security aware as goods often have high value.
* Ensure the vehicle is safely unloaded and the right delivery paperwork is
* Support Operational teams as required
* Maintaining the cleanliness of the vehicle and refuelling as appropriate.
* Where ever practicable ensure the vehicle is parked at its Operating centre base when not in use.
* Cooperate with enforcement agencies if subject to a vehicle stop and report the occurrence.
* Maintains radio or telephone contact with base or supervisor to receive instructions or be dispatched to new location.
* Participates in any driver improvement training or initiatives including the Compulsory Driver training (DCPC) Scheme
Who we're looking for
Knowledge of the Power industry is essential
* Full clean driving licence
* Current DCPC
* Valid Medical examinations
* Valid Hi-Ab ticket ( Would be an Advantage)
* Valid plant tickets ( Would be an Advantage)
* Valid Telehandler Ticket ( Would be an Advantage)
* Emergency First Aid At Work
* Ability to work in a team
* Good verbal and written communication skills
