Assystem is an International Engineering Consultancy with significant growth plans within our Energy & Infrastructure business here in the UK. Assystem is proud to work in partnership with one of the UK's most prestigious nuclear defence manufacturing companies by providing talented temporary resource needed to deliver complex engineering projects.
Assystem are recruiting for experienced IT Project Leads to support our customers projects in Derby on a contract basis.
This role will be focused on taking full responsibility for the definition, documentation and completion of medium-scale projects (typically lasting 6-12 months, with direct business impact)
Role Details:

Key Accountabilities include but are not limited to:
Takes full responsibility for the definition, documentation and completion of medium-scale projects (typically lasting 6-12 months, with direct business impact)
Identifies, assesses and manages risks to the success of the project
Ensures that company standards project and quality plans are prepared and maintained and provides regular and accurate reports to stakeholders as appropriate
Ensures quality reviews occur on schedule and according to procedure
Manages the change control procedure, and ensures that project deliverables are completed within planned cost, timescale and resource budgets, and signed off
Provides effective leadership to the project team, and takes appropriate action where team performance deviates from agreed tolerances
Monitors and controls resources, revenue and capital costs against the project budget and manages expectations of all project stakeholders
Coordinate deliverable acceptance process
Plan, organize, coordinate and lead the project team
Manage project progress and regularly report on status
Ensure adherence to the project plan (milestones) and budget
Able to manage escalation
What we are looking for in applications:
Degree qualified or equivalent experience in a relevant discipline, with chartered status preferred
Demonstrates project leadership in delivering a range and variety of complex technical and/or professional work activities/projects using structured programme methodologies covering technical, financial and quality aspects and ideally involving business transformations
Proven ability to plan, schedule and monitor work to meet time and quality targets
Experience of leading and working in a global business environment and managing distributed teams, selecting appropriately from applicable standards, methods, tools and applications
Ability to communicate effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences
Maintains an awareness of developing technologies and their application and takes some responsibility for driving own development
Undertakes work which requires the application of fundamental principles in a wide and often unpredictable range of contexts.**Security clearance**
This role requires the successful candidate to hold a minimum of a Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance.
Due to the nature of work this role will be delivering and for the protection of certain assets, the successful candidate has to be a UK national or in MoD approved cases a Dual National from a non-ITAR country
