Cheshire Wildlife Trust are recruiting for a Wilder Childhood Officer to support our childhood engagement projects with the goal of inspiring people to take action to bring local wildlife back.

Salary: GBP20,247 - GBP24,365, starting at GBP20,247 (Rank 6)
Contract type: Permanent
Working hours: Full time
Location: Bickley Hall Farm, Malpas, Cheshire + onsite delivery across Cheshire
Do you have a passion for working with children and families, inspiring them with the natural world? Are you experienced in outdoor learning? Do you want to be part of driving a movement and empowering people to take action for wildlife?
We have just the role for you.
Nature is in trouble. We have reached a tipping point. Wildlife is in freefall both locally and nationally and our climate is in crisis. By 2030 we must see nature recovering, wildlife returning and ecosystems restored and we need many, many more people on nature's side. We urgently need one in four people to take action to bring wildlife back across our region.
The Wilder Childhood Officer will join the Wilder Engagement Team, supporting key childhood projects; Wild Warrington and the Wilder Schools Network; both in delivering outdoor sessions to children, teachers and families and working behind the scenes to facilitate the smooth running of projects.
Our wilder childhood work seeks to connect children to nature, inspiring them to care and take action to bring wildlife back. We are working to empower and mobilise individuals and communities via self-sustaining networks and a community organising approach.
This is a permanent, full-time position.
