Excellent salary/package (Holiday: 25 days + 8 Statutory Days, Pension up to 6% matched, Life Assurance: 5x Basic Salary)

(7:30am - 4:00pm Monday to Thursday, 7:30am - 1:30pm Friday)

My client are a precision manufacturing business based North Birmingham specialising in machining and assembly of high value low volume components. Working within the Process Engineering team and wider Operations Team, the Process Engineer will be responsible for supporting the business with process improvement projects across Operations, enabling the business to deliver outstanding results to both internal and external customers

Job Description

Support with the management and maintenance of operational process systems.
Develop, configure and optimise production processes from inception through to start up including all supporting documentation
Assess processes, take measurements and interpret data.
Design, run, test and upgrade systems and processes.
Develop best practice, routines and innovative solutions using lean manufacturing methodology to improve productive output and the quality of output.
Perform process simulations.
Manage cost and time constraints.
Perform risk assessments.
Provide process documentation and operating instructions.
Ensure that the process standards, procedures and specifications are in place for operational assets.
Support with the development of process engineering initiatives to manage project implementation.
Support with establishing process definitions for all the stages of project life cycle.
Evaluate process flows and provide recommendations.
Optimize process systems for operational efficiency and cost savings.
Support the Engineering Manager with the development and maintenance of New Product Introduction systems and processes to support the introduction of new business from receipt of contract through to production. Support with the management of New Product Introduction using relevant tools and techniques.
Development and maintain suitable KPI's to drive departmental performance and support the PDCA process.

Process Engineer

Essential Qualifications / Experience / Skills

Significant previous experience of engineering/manufacturing in a precision manufacturing/machining environment is essential
Experience in process simulations
Excellent proven work experience in process engineering
Excellent working knowledge of manufacturing systems, machining, assembly and test
Experience and knowledge of supporting the development and maintenance of New Product Introduction (NPI) systems and processes to support the introduction of new business from receipt of contract through to production
Experience and knowledge of NPI projects and ensuring that they are executed with good quality and budget control processes is desirable
Experience of Project Management
Knowledge of process related standards
Experience of working with and implementing Lean manufacturing tools and techniques
Ability to develop best practice, routines and innovative solutions using lean methodology (SMED, SOP, One Piece Flow) to improve productive output and the quality of output

Process Engineer

Essential Qualifications / Experience / Skills

Degree in an Engineering or related discipline
Relevant Engineering professional qualifications
SolidWorks experience
Knowledge of Defence standards

The successful candidate will be required to 'hit the ground running' and quickly understand the key challenges and opportunities. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and driving strategy and comfortable balancing both short- and long-term results
