This leading Housing Association require a MS Power BI/Business Intelligence Specialist to work in their expanding Performance and Insights Team. You will be pivotal in delivering a high quality information provision and analysis service to support and underpin performance monitoring, improve business outcomes and ensure the organisation can meet its strategic and operational objectives.
Working as part of a small team you will develop and deliver accurate and timely data extraction and analysis, and produce reports within required deadlines. You will blend your Power BI development skills with your analytical abilities to design BI solutions that enable direct benefit to its customers/residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake ETL exercises to take data from systems and populate a Data Warehouse. This will be done through a governed data model that uses the core principles of the data strategy. All Datamodelling undertaken needs to be consistent and timely to ensure that information is fit for purpose.
- Design optimal and cost-effective Power BI solutions to meet agreed requirements, enabling stakeholders to meet their business objectives.
- Develop strategies for various Business Intelligence solutions, analytics platforms, and reporting.
- Work within a fast-paced agile environment, with ever-changing needs.
- Improve and standardise management reporting for Executive and Senior leadership teams.
- Champion the roll-out of self-service reporting using Power BI and other tools.
- Work with the business to understand each area's reporting requirements and build a data model that meets them, and also intersects the requirements of the organisation as a whole.
- Analysis and interpretation of data and statistical models, and preparation of written reports and dashboards summarising results, across a range of business activities and performance reporting.
- Contribution to the ongoing development of information systems enabling efficient and intelligent access to performance information.
- Coach on the analysis and interpretation of the information and how to use it to guide decision making, advising on issues of data standards and quality as necessary.
- Develop, maintain and make accessible documentation of procedures and processes carried out by the Performance and Insights Team to support data accreditation and facilitate team working.
- To assist in the design, development and administration of new Information Systems and reports.
Key Skills/Experience:
- Graduate degree or equivalent relevant professional experience
- Information Management or Statistics qualification - Desirable
- Agile Project Management Qualification eg. (Scrum, DSDM) - Desirable
- Use of Microsoft Azure Data Services and Power BI; manage/maintain codebase of Power BI reports
- Building Power BI datasets from specific data sources and utilising Power BI Apps to present dashboards and reports
- Familiar with Power BI Premium features such as dataflows and life cycle management
- Training users with basic skills in Power BI
- Analytical experience preferably in medium to large organisation
- Experience of the application of data extraction and analysis
- Experience of working with colleagues across all disciplines and at every level within the organisation
- Previous knowledge and experience of housing, finance, people and care management systems and database management - Desirable
- Excellent communication, influencing and persuading skills at all levels - open, honest and inclusive communication style
- Proven experience of producing indicators and automated reporting in line with operational and business requirements
- Presenting data and/or data models to management and large audiences
- Analysis such as Access, Excel, Business Objects, SQL, Dynamics
- Specialist knowledge and experience of statistical/analytical/techniques and procedures - Desirable
