Principal Structural Engineer
Role Purpose:
This role will be critical to successful delivery of projects to budget and timescales. As Team grows this role may include responsibility for leading a small team of engineers and designers
Critical relationships
The Principal Structural Engineer reports to a Team Leader and collaborates with all stake-holders cross discipline to achieve 'best for project' outcomes.
Role Location: Hybrid with a choice to work out of one of the following locations: Manchester, Leeds, York, Guilford, Nottingham, Chester or Newcastle
Notes:
The role will be responsible for water projects so water experience is highly desirable
Responsibilities:
*Managing the delivery of projects may act as discipline lead within a multidisciplinary team.
*Maintain client contact and ensure that project delivery meets the client's objectives and requirements.
*Ensuring that the technical content of all work carried out is correct and completed in accordance within agreed timescales and budgets.
*Undertake project delivery tasks, which may include calculations, drawings, sketches and reports.
*Provide technical guidance, support and training to colleagues and assist, where practicable, in mentoring and development of others.
*Work in close collaboration with colleagues from other disciplines
Specific experience, skills & knowledge
*Knowledge of design in common building materials including steel, concrete, timber and masonry
*Experience of working within a 3D design environment is essential and an ability to work to BIM protocols would be desirable.
*Application of Engineering principles
*Design Development
*Computer Aided Design and Modelling Packages such as Tekla.
