NXTGEN have an outstanding opportunity for a Management Accountant to join an innovative and forward thinking biotech company based in south Cambridge, who are looking to transform the scientific processes of their clients. The business pride themselves on enabling scientists to accelerate scientific research that will ultimately enhance human health and as Management Accountant, you will play a key role in the success of the business. Working closely with the Financial Controller, this Management Accountant role will take responsibility for the month end management accounts packs, identifying trends and opportunities for increased financial performance. You will also have the opportunity to partner with sales and commercial teams, influencing the medium and long term sales strategies through detailed financial modelling and analysis. As Management Accountant, you will also take on the responsibilities for all FP&A tasks including the ongoing review of financial forecasts and company budget performance.

Key responsibilities within the role will include:

Ownership for the month end management accounting close for UK, US and EU entities, ensuring accompany commentary is clear and concise for board packs
FP&A responsibilities which will include working with a range of budget holders to review overhead costs and identify opportunities for increased financial performance
Budget and forecast reviews, identifying variances as well as year on year trends
Work closely with commercial teams to design sales planning strategy to achieve medium and long term financial goals
Review and analyse sales reports, identifying business opportunities as well as customer and market trends
Constructively challenge decisions across the business to maximise financial performance of each business unitThe successful candidate will ideally be fully qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent) with a strong Management Accounting background. A solid understanding of FP&A reporting principles is highly desirable combined with prior experience in a fast paced Manufacturing environment. You will be a confident user of Excel, reviewing and manipulating large volumes of data within financial models. Prior experience of ERP systems or BI tools would be significantly advantageous. This is a very visible role so candidates will need to have outstanding communication skills and will be confident engaging with a range of senior stakeholders across the business.
