Our client in the Hemswell area are looking for FLT Operatives to work on shift rotations.
1) Job Details
Job Title: Shift Forklift Truck Operative
Reporting To: Logistics and Weighbridge Team Leader
Location: Hemswell
Shift Pattern/Working Hours: 4 on 4 off (12 hour days and nights)
Job purpose:
As the shift forklift truck operative you will be responsible for ensuring all logistics activities are conducted inline with site processes to safeguard customer requirements. It is a critical part of the role to ensure all tasks are completed accurately and within the given timeframe to ensure our customer requirements are met in full.
Dimensions
Ensure no needless financial charges are created ensuring efficiency through the loading and unloading process at all times, these charges may come in the form of:-
• Demurrage charges.
• Return load charges.
• Wasted journey charges.
Knowledge, skills and experience required
• Must be counterbalance forklift truck trained.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure juggling numerous tasks at times.
• Flexible.
• Attention to detail.
• Driver of continuous improvement - Always challenging current practises.
Key result areas
• Ensure loads are loaded, tipped and through the weighbridge process at the planned times on the daily slot sheet and goods in schedule.
• Ensure all documents are completed to the required standards for each process for loading and tipping.
• Ensure site external standards are maintained, putting stock away when required.
• Ensure internal area standards are maintained, putting stock away when required.
• To monitor performance throughout the shift and act quickly if required ensuring targets are met.
• Show improvements for any non conformances raised.
• Any other ad-hoc duties as required.
Communications and working relationships
• Supply Chain Manager - Liaising on daily progress.
• Logistics and Weighbridge Team Leader - Liaising on daily progress.
• Operations Management Team - Liaising on any issues throughout the shift, specifically out of hours.
• External Customers and Auditors - For process reviews.
Scope for impact
• Zero accidents. Always working safely and within the safe operating procedures.
• Ensuring that photos of loads processed through the system are of the required standards or loads may be returned.
• Ensuring goods in loads are checked as required so the operation is not affected by poor product being received.
• Ensuring the correct product is loaded on the required vehicles. Incorrect products sent can result in the loads being returned, upsetting customers and potential fines.
• All documentation to be completed correctly to ensure we are always audit ready and every process is completed correctly.
• Efficient flow of loads through the processes to ensure we do not incur unnecessary costs and meet our targets in terms of on time in full to the customer.
• Ensure stock is put away correctly within the relevant areas and with other products of the same grade to ensure ease on stock counting and reduce the potential to mix loads going out.
