Working in partnership with a market leading business based in Huddersfield (HD4) we are looking to recruit a Service Engineer on their behalf.
Based out of their Huddersfield office this is a fantastic opportunity to progress your career, developing new skills along the way, the key attribute is your attitude and desire to be successful.
Reporting to the Operations Director, the successful candidate will have a recognised Engineering qualification or experience within a similar type of role.
THE ROLE
Working across the UK the role is to install, service and repair gas controlled equipment at customer sites which include food manufacturing/production and the care sector, adhering to customer H&S and Safeguarding policies. Weekend and evening work may be required where emergency repairs are required. Overseas travel will be required on occasions where you will be working alongside distributors, fully adhering to localised rules and regulations . As this work is seasonal, there will be periods whereby you will be based in the manufacturing site in Huddersfield supporting the Production Team.
KEY DUTIES
- Mechanically/electrically install and service gas control and sanitization equipment.
- Use schematics, block diagrams and other drawings for fault finding
- Liaise with Project Manager prior to arranging site work/visiting site to ensure all customer instructions/requirements are available
- Responsible for on-site H&S and for sourcing/completing RA's/RAMS and site specific paperwork
- Carry out on-site fault finding on equipment and repair where possible. Where on-site repairs are not possible, decommission equipment and return to base for repair.
- Completing on-site reports and processing as per company instructions
- Follow company policy and procedures to communicate effectively with customers and any other relevant contact to ensure smooth running of site-work and for own safety
- Use equipment appropriate for the job and safely and correctly
- Clean and maintain working area on site and at customers premises
- Adhere to (and report any concerns) regarding company H&S policies/ guidelines and current legislation.
- Maintaining parts/stock levels and equipment in works van
- Ensure documentation to be kept in the company vehicle is up to date I.E insurance information, accident reporting forms, RAMS, company covid policy
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Basic understanding of electrical wiring.
- Be thorough and pay attention to detail.
- Have the ability to work well with your hands.
- Have the ability to work well with others.
- Excellent commercial and customer service skills
- Demonstrative record of dealing with high profile organisations.
- Numeracy skills.
- Ability to accept and respond to advice.
- Be flexible and open to change.
- Carry out basic tasks on a computer or hand-held device
- Have a good understanding of H&S
- Full UK Driving Licence is essential
Full training will be given to the successful candidate and in return you will receive a competitive basic salary with potential for overtime outside of your normal hours of Monday - Friday 08:30 - 16:30. Occassional weekend work could be required for emergency breakdowns.
