Tourism Team Leader Sales- Competitive Salary

Location: Cheltenham,

Our client has an exciting opportunity for a FIT Sales Team Leader to join their team. This role will involve aassisting the manager in overseeing the team with a focus on those in sales. Assisting in ongoing training and development of the sales team working closely with the management team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

* First point of contact for all sales matters whilst leading the sales team to achieve targets

* Allocate and monitor workload turnaround times for quotes, ensuring agreed times are achieved

* Monitor accuracy of quotations of the team and ensure that standards are maintained

* Assist Tour Consultants with problem solving, providing training or guidance required

* Check, costings, and itinerary content of programmes as part of the coaching process

* Six-month probationary reviews for new starters working in sales with the manager

* Support and assistance to the sales team to ensure their training requirements are being met

* Update the team on best practise, proactively ensure staff have workloads fairly allocated

* Prepare quantitative reports as requested, check, costings and itinerary content of programmes

* Assist with setting up fam trips for agents and ad-hoc pre-priced programs

* Negotiate better hotel rates where our contracted rates are higher than internet rates

* Cost each programme accurately, ensuring the required level of quality/timeframe using TS V2

* Follow up on all new business quoted until a definitive result is obtained

* On confirmation, set up the file and make sure Travel Studio is accurate

* Actively investigate new products/marketing opportunities to achieve greater sales

* Check the final itinerary and Supplier Information Report before it is sent to all suppliers

* Resolve problems which may occur during a tour, in conjunction with the operator

* Maintain professional relationships with suppliers, travel agents, colleagues, clients including face-to-face sales and operations meetings

* Assist the Accounts Department with invoice queries and enter financial data onto Travel

* Ensure that correct funds are received from a client by the agreed dates

* Ensure that client commission payments are made within an agreed time limit

* Actively highlight potential CS/QC problems and take steps to avoid them

* Provide emergency mobile telephone service on a rota basis providing information for emergency file

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:

* Excellent command of the English language, spoken and written

* Preferably some knowledge of one other European language (especially Spanish and Portuguese)

* University degree or similar OR solid and relevant work experience

* Up-to-date knowledge of Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint, numerate, accurate and dedicated

* Good level of geographical and general knowledge of Europe

* Strong appreciation of customer care, accuracy, and deadlines
