Tourism Team Leader - FIT Agency Operations, Competitive Salary
Location: Cheltenham
Our client has an exciting opportunity for a FIT Operations Team Leader to join their team. This role will involve Assisting the manager in overseeing the team with a focus on those in operations. Assisting in ongoing training and development of the operations team working closely with the Operations Trainer
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* First point of contact for all Ops matters for all members of the Agency Operations team
* Assist in overseeing the successful operation of tailor made for the FIT department
* Spot checks of files and final docs across the operations team as required
* Monthly probationary reviews for new starters and 6 monthly probationary review with team manager
* Ensure all Ops staff confirm files back to agents in the desired time
* Work with the Ops trainer to provide/organise training sessions
* Provide support and assistance to the Operations team ensuring training requirements are met
* Assistance with any destination knowledge TS matters and training on requotes to increase the team's knowledge within the destinations they operate in
* Update the team on best practise, always challenging whether there is a better ways to do and encourage an environment of high quality and high efficiency
* Participate in ensuring margins are improved at the prescribed level
* Prepare and provide quantitative reports as requested
* Support the Manager as joint Second in Command with the sales Team Leader counterpart
* Check final documents, and outline better buying opportunities to assist with achieving targets
* Update the monthly financial figures of the team
* Hold morning meetings and assist with task delegation
* Allocate incoming deposits to operators and assist with minor QC issues as and when needed
* Operate both difficult and simple bookings to understand processes and assist the team
* Prepare and check the final documents for any errors or changes
* Resolve problems which may occur during the course of a tour whilst maintaining professional relationships with all suppliers and clients
* Liaising with agents on any changes or operational requirements re- negotiate services before confirming
* Maintain accurate records, of relevant charts e.g. better buying, Recce Schedule are up to date
* Assist the Finance Department with invoice queries as they arise
* Investigate and reply to customer service issues in a fair and balanced manner
* Provide mobile telephone service on a rota basis and all information for emergency file
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:
* Excellent command of the English language, spoken and written
* Preferably some knowledge of one other European language (especially Spanish and Portuguese)
* University degree or similar OR solid and relevant work experience
* Up-to-date knowledge of Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
* Good level of geographical and general knowledge of Europe
* Strong appreciation of customer care, accuracy, and deadlines and numeracy.
