Start your career within the Emergency Services, training to become a fully qualified mechanic whilst gaining on the job experience and other employee benefits!

This is your chance to complete a four-year apprenticeship in vehicle maintenance and repair, learning how to keep North Wales Fire and Rescue Service's fleet in optimal order.

In the Apprentice Vehicle Technician job, you will:

Receive training and under supervision, carry out repairs and maintenance of Service vehicles, plant and equipment as directed
Carry out electrical diagnosis, using schematic diagrams and problem-solving techniques
Ensure all work carried out is recorded correctly via accurate completion of job records, or service maintenance records
Record any maintenance, repairs and test results and forward to the Workshop Manager highlighting any failures or areas of concern
Ensuring all parts used are processed through the electronic stock system
Attend college on a day release basis to achieve recognised qualification's and attend other training courses as directed
Adhere to Health and Safety and Information Security requirements in accordance with relevant policies
Providing any other duties in line with qualifications and experience
To be considered for the Apprentice Vehicle Technician role, you must have:

Demonstratable interest and ambition to work in a commercial vehicle maintenance and repair environment
A full and valid UK driving licence or the ability to obtain a full and valid driving licence within the probation period
The ability to attend college on a designated date and time on a day release basis
Good communication, prioritisation and organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines
A team work approach and be able to use own initiative
The ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instruction and procedure manuals
This is a fixed term, 4-year apprenticeship on a salary of GBP19,264 per annum PLUS employee benefits based at Tre-Marl Industrial Estate in Llandudno Junction with the requirement to attend college on a day release basis.
