Salary: £24,449 - £28,959 per annum
Location: Musgrove Park Hospital Taunton Campus
Bridgwater & Taunton College is located in the heart of Somerset, with main centres in Bridgwater, Taunton and Cannington. The College has an excellent reputation both regionally and nationally as a highly successful provide of Education & Training.
The Foundation Learning Department is for learners with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND), barriers to learning and/or Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties (SEMH). The provision is based across three campuses, Bridgwater, Cannington and Taunton and offers high-quality tailored programmes designed to meet the individual needs of learners.
The successful candidate will deliver highly quality teaching, learning and assessment focused on employment skills development for learners with additional support needs to overcome their barriers to learning. Alongside this the role includes job coaching, building partnerships and personal tutoring. They will ensure Supported Employment National Occupational Standards are adhered to and use techniques such as Systematic Instruction. The aim for each learner is that they gain full-time paid employment either in the hospital or outside as a result of the skills gained during the year.
The post holder will develop exciting curriculum alongside learner work placements to enhance the learner experience, raise aspirations and impact positively on their next steps into employment. The role will focus on supporting learners to realise their potential through empowering and engaging learners, developing employability skills, promoting independence and planning for their next steps to progress seamlessly.
You will work collaboratively to work towards common learner goals with key stakeholders including NHS staff, Discovery Job Coaches and the Local Authority.
