Field Service Engineer - Compressed air (PTO) and auxiliary equipment

Our client is the UK's largest provider of bespoke vehicle installations and mobile compressor air and electrical solutions. From small 12cfm piston compressors and 40cfm screw compressors fitted to tyre service vehicles through to 100cfm utility vehicles & 15kw static screw compressors based in customer premises, every job will present different problem-solving techniques and repair strategies. In addition to the compressed air, we also install, service and repair the latest automatic video wheel balancers and 12v tyre machines.
They build, service and repair tyre & utility vans for a huge range of customers including Kwik Fit, ATS, Halfords, Trucktyre, Lodge Tyres, McConechy's, Nationwide and many, many more.
Head office is based in West Yorkshire where the complete installations are designed, manufactured, and installed. From bespoke racking systems to lightbars, inbuilt strobes, 110v/240v generators and even full vehicle vinyl wraps, they provide the full package built to customer specification.
Full technical back up is provided by head office staff.

They are looking to add an experienced Field Service Engineer to their engineering team and maintain the high standard of service.
Duties and responsibilities:
Their engineers are responsible for the servicing, fault-finding, reactive and preventative maintenance work on (Kwik Fit and similar) compressed air systems, both on mobile & static applications and associated workshop equipment, torque wrench calibration, compressor service/repair, Oxy Acetylene equipment testing, wheel balancing machines etc
Service, troubleshoot, repair and maintain compressed air equipment, normally within a 100 mile radius of home location
* Maintain strong lines of communication with the servicing team to ensure they can manage our work and customers' requirements efficiently.
* Provide high levels of customer service whilst always adhering to H&S and company policy.
* Ensure equipment is always operating correctly and efficiently.
* Build strong working relationships with customers.
Essential Skills / Experience
* You will ideally hold a relevant mechanical qualification to at least City & Guilds Level 3 or ONC in Motor Vehicle Engineering
* Although relevant experience may be taken into account as alternative to a qualification
* You must hold a full UK driving licence and have entitlement to work in the UK.
* You will need a flexible approach to work schedules.
* Sound knowledge of mechanical principles and repair procedures
* 3+ years' as a Field Service Engineer but engineers from a HGV/PCV/Plant background will be considered
* Ability to apply knowledge to practical situations working on compressed air equipment.
* Ability to follow instructions, reading and understanding electrical schematics and diagrams.
* Sound understanding of external factors which can affect compressor performance.
* You will need to be computer literate to operate the Job Sheet system on your phone/tablet.
* Have a flexible approach to work which is sometimes outside normal working hours.
* Be confident with customers and be able to discuss problems at all levels.
* During times of heavy workload, be able to travel beyond the normal work area to assist in neighbouring areas.
* The role is a physical one therefore you will need to be energetic, fit and healthy.
Renumeration
This is a home-based role and paid door to door.
* Salary: GBP30,560 when you are trained and operating independently - with overtime expected to be GBP45,000.
* Overtime : After 40 hours - time and half
* Holidays: 28 days
* Company vehicle provided with availability for personal use.
* Mobile phone and tablet.
* Specialist tools provided.
