We are looking for a Warehouse Operative to join the team at our Teynham depot on a full time, permanent basis. This role also requires to step up to Team Leader responsibilities at times.
Shift Pattern: Tuesday / Thursday / Friday / Saturday (22.00 - 10.00)
(A degree of flexibility is required in order to meet the demands of the business)
Hourly Rate: GBP12.92 ph week days , GBP15.50 ph weekends
Job Description
Responsibilities of a Warehouse Operative:
* To ensure you load/unload product strictly in line with the Company's policies and procedures.
* To ensure the correct documentation is completed for all inbound and dispatch loads.
* Reporting any trailer or MHE faults in line with Company procedures and ensuring VOR vehicles are placed in the designated areas.
* To remain vigilant in ensuring goods are picked and assembled accurately as per instructions.
* To ensure dispatched loads are properly secured prior to leaving the loading bay.
* To reach and maintain the standards required to meet the Company's productivity targets.
* Ensure all practices and procedures are safely carried out in line with the Company's Health & Safety policy, SSOWs and HACCP regulations, where appropriate, and to challenge colleagues who fail to adhere to any such rules or regulations.
* Ensure customer returns are received, recorded and notified to the appropriate Stock Controller
Responsibilities of a Step up Team Leader:
* Contribute to the success of the site by supporting the Shift Supervisor in the day-to-day running of an area of the warehouse.
* Ensuring productivity targets are achieved
* Health & Safety requirements are met and that the highest standards of housekeeping are maintained
* Manage Goods Inwards area and Loading bays to ensure that receipts are made quickly and without damaging goods so that stock is available to satisfy orders
* Assist the Supervisor in co-ordinating any issues within the warehouse.
Qualifications
* Ability to efficiently lead and motivate a small team of colleagues.
* Experience with Manual Handling equipment
* Strong communication skills.
* The ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure.
* Effectively prioritise work load in order to meet set deadlines.
* Have a good working knowledge within a Warehouse and Logistics operation.
* Be proactive and able to make decisions
