HGV Driver Trainer

Carrinton, Manchester

GBP38,000 - GBP39,000

Monday - Friday, Days

I'm currently recruiting for a motivated, knowledgeable and organised person to take responsibility for the learning, development and delivery of HGV driver training within the Logistics / Supply Chain sector.

The candidate;

* Driver and Training and Assessment Related qualifications are essential (RTITB, RHA, SAFED and/or equivalent)
* Train the Trainer Qualification/Assessor Qualifications
* JAUPT approved training assessor
* CPC Qualification and full UK HGV Driving Licence
* Demonstrate ability to prepare effective written and visual teaching materials in line with course requirements
* Ability to influence and being able to communicate at all levels
* Computer skills - Microsoft Office and TruTac
* Good communication skills, interaction at all levels internal and external.
* Ability to maintain high standards whilst working under pressure
* Team player with a flexible 'Can Do' attitude

Duties and Responsibilities;

* Development of Training Course Materials and Driver Handbooks Understand and adhere to Legal Requirements i.e. Health & Safety
* Assist in achieving full legal compliance with the Operators License, Health and Safety and Driver Hour Regulations.
* Design and develop and deliver effective driver Induction and Training programmes, and regularly monitor and review accordingly and ensure Statutory Training requirements are met.
* Implementing appropriate courses including tachograph, manual handling, fuel management, defensive driving and safety training.
* Classroom presentations on Highway Code, Drivers hours, Safe Loading (Steel), Health & Safety, and working time directive rules and regulations
* To design and implement training and development programmes as appropriate to improve operational efficiency. Produce training materials for in-house courses and manage the delivery of training and development programmes
* Give consideration to costings of such planned programmes and keep within budgets as assessing the return on investment
* Keep up to date with developments in training i.e. reading relevant journals, going to meetings and attending relevant courses
* Reviewing data from the in cab telematics and Tachograph analysis systems including Driver Hour Infringements, MPG, Idling, Harsh Braking/Acceleration and agreeing a corrective training plan.
