Summary

We have a unique opportunity for a Project Officer to work primarily on the Northey Island Coastal Adaptation project. Our objective is to create a sustainable adaptation of the Northey Island coastline for the next 100 years; considering rising sea levels, climate change and the local community. This will enable us to achieve our goals to conserve the habitats around the island - for ever, for everyone.

What it's like to work here

The Northey Island Coastal Adaptation project is about creating a sustainable adaptation in the face of coastal change and engaging with the many people who live, work, visit and care about this special part of Essex.

Reporting to the Project Manager, you'll be part of the National Trust Consultancy, the home to specialists in every field of our work. You'll be based out of the East of England regional hub, or will travel to the project site and may work from home occasionally.

What you'll be doing

You'll support in the planning, coordination, programme management and documentation for the Northey Island Coastal Adaptation Project. The project will apply a range of management techniques to achieve an integrated programme of work that aims to be self-sustaining over the following 100 years.

You'll assist the Project Manager with stakeholder groups (external to the Trust) to help ensure they are informed, consulted, and listened to. It's important that our community groups engage with our plans and understand the long-term benefits, so you'll contribute to ways to inspire these groups. You'll also work with internal stakeholders who bring specialisms to the project.

You'll assist in the management of contracts, electronic files, finances, and fundraising applications and produce project highlight reports, as well as ensuring the project keeps on track with our Project Management Framework.

You'll also support the activities of the Senior Coastal Projects Manager and Coastal Projects Manager in helping manage issues that arise at other National Trust coastal properties.
