A school in Leatherhead, Surrey are looking for a Learning Support Assistant to assist children aged between 4 to 19 with complex social and communication needs.

This school fosters pupil's confidence and ability to manage their emotions. They encourage students to empower themselves through engagement in their learning. Communication skills are continually developed to encourage independence and self-help skills. The school ensures that pupils are exposed to a broad curriculum, so students can develop their own interests.

The Role:

This is an excellent opportunity for psychology graduates to put a foot in the door of education. This entry-level position is fantastic experience for aspiring educational psychologists or aspiring teachers. Was the topic of your dissertation centered on Special Educational Needs? Is this a topic you're passionate about working with or studying?

This is an exciting opportunity for Psychology graduates to develop their experience with Special Educational Needs and Behavioural Disorders. The position may include working with whole classes, running small group interventions and working on a 1:1 basis with students. The Learning Support Assistant will have the opportunity to work closely with young people with mental health difficulties, challenging behaviour and learning disabilities, such as ASD.

The schools are looking for confident, dedicated SEN teaching assistants who are enthusiastic about their input into a child's education. Not only that, the school are looking for a LSA to be a positive role model to encourage the children to fulfill their potential academically, as well as support them socially and emotionally. Ideally, the successful SEN Teaching Assistant will have, or show a commitment to developing, excellent behaviour management skills.
