My client are a small but well established niche media organisation.

They have an opportunity for a hands on news and website editor who has business journalism experience to work on their weekly newspaper, newsletter and association publications and web-based products.

Responsibilities:-

• Re-work press releases to ensure they are relevant, engaging and optimised for search engine indexing. Upload to the news website via Wordpress;• Ensure news stories are linked to social media platforms;• Arrange and undertake telephone, Zoom/Team and in-person interviews with industry executives;• Produce fresh news and write up interviews;• Produce and distribute an advertising-driven daily Newsletter using content from the news website;• Writing feature articles for the weekly newspaper;• Develop strong relationships with team members, advertisers and readers.

Requirements:-

• Someone with a "Can do" attitude who has previously worked on a B2B title in the commercial sector and is experienced in writing and optimising relevant news content on Wordpress;• Has the ability to prioritise and manage their own workload and meet multiple deadlines;• Is well organised, self-motivated with an exemplary attention to detail;• Has a good eye for a story and an understanding of what makes interesting online and print content;• Is comfortable with UK and foreign travel when necessary to attend industry events, briefings and interviews;• Is conversant with social media platforms and, ideally, familiar with In-Design, Wordpress and Mailchimp;• Is able to attend once-monthly team meetings in Surrey.
