Hours  37.5 hours

Contract  Full time – permanent (part time and job share also considered)

Salary  £52,440.00 rising to £57,753.00 with annual increments

Location  Hybrid worker - home, services or office based as necessary.  Together Trust Central office is based in Cheadle, Cheshire

We have a new and exciting opportunity for a Clinical Psychologist.

We are in a significant period of growth for the Trust’s clinical services. We work across the whole spectrum of education settings across the north west, alongside providing specialist input to Trust services more broadly, i.e. residential and community.

The new role of Clinical Psychologist is key to the development our services offer, with real opportunity to creatively develop new service models, raise the profile of psychologist expertise and provide expert input via a Trust wide multi-disciplinary approach.

The purpose of the role is to ensure clinical practice, quality and consistency of service is maintained and improved across all areas of delivery. The Clinical Psychologist is a key role within the Clinical Services Management Team providing support and clinical leadership to multi-disciplinary staff working within and across Trust services, and externally within Schools and wider social care services.

The post holder will balance their time between clinical leadership, encompassing quality and compliance auditing and analysis of practice to drive improvement, alongside providing direct psychology support- working alongside our Positive Behaviour Support (PBS), Speech and Language, Occupational Therapists, Sleep Service Practitioners, Counsellors and Education Psychologists. The Clinical Psychologist will be expected to assess needs, abilities and behaviours using a variety of methods including psychometric assessments, interviews and direct observation.

Work collaboratively with teams across school and social care settings to support the mental health and psychological needs of CYP.

We would like the Lead to build relationships with Universities and further education to facilitate and support placement opportunities for Psychologists in training. The Clinical Lead will act as onsite supervisor and lead contact for Universities. The aim is to drive this work forward and benefit the Trust, with an influx of skills and expertise, alongside developing a pipeline of new skills and opportunities available- feeding potential for future recruitment.

Do you have a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology or Educational Psychology and Registered with the HCPC?

Do you have significant post qualification experience and experience of working with children or young people with complex needs including learning disabilities and/or Autism Spectrum Conditions and/or mental health problems?

We are looking for someone with experience working with staff teams and significant experience of undertaking cognitive and psychological assessments, developing formulations and providing recommendations and support plans.
