Salary: £27,047 - £28,848 per annum

We are looking for a flexible and enthusiastic individual to work as a Theatre Technical Manager. You will need to be a well organised and efficient individual with a can-do attitude towards all tasks.

Reporting to the Theatre Manager the Technical Manager is responsible for all aspects of the technical operation of The McMillan Theatre and Taunton Conference Centre. S/he provides technical expertise and support to all users, students, hirers and artistes performing at the theatre and is responsible for the efficient, safe and economical use of resources and staff, within existing legislation.

The position requires a comprehensive knowledge of, and experience in, technical theatre operations as well as good inter-personal and communication skills.

The Technical Manager post is a senior position within The McMillan Theatre and the post-holder is expected to contribute towards the development of the theatre’s activities.

The Technical Manager acts as line manager to the theatre’s Technical Apprentices and Casual Technicians. You will be able to contribute to teaching technical skills in lighting, sound, set and stage management. They will also support Venue Supervisors when needed.
