Head Gardner
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Gardener to take responsibility for an impressive property easily commutable from Stourbridge and surrounding areas.
It is a diverse role where you will manage the grounds of an established large garden with a wide variety of plant life (indoor and outdoor) and lawned areas, including a Kitchen Garden. There is also a live on site option available if desired.
Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
* Management of the grounds (drives, hedges, borders, mature trees, and lawns).
* Maintain and nurture a wide range of plants (including ornamental and fruit trees, shrubs, and flowering plants).
* Propagating seeds etc.
* Limited amount of Hot and Cold Greenhouse work.
* Maintenance of Kitchen Garden.
What you'll need:
* Demonstrable experience managing and maintaining a large garden.
* Knowledgeable on plants, fruit trees, flowering shrubs, and climbers - have a passion for roses, and an ability to design bulb planting schemes.
* Self-motivation and ability to garden to the annual calendar needs.#
* Ability to work alongside small team of hard-working colleagues on farm estate (some of whom give limited assistance to grounds maintenance).
Due to the nature of the role candidates will be requested to provide references and will be able to demonstrate a portfolio of works.
Job type: Permanent
Salary: GBP25,000 - 30,000. Option to live on site if desired.
Start date: Immediate
