An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Operations Manager to join a leading luxury retail brand. This is a 6 month contract role with an immediate start available and offering hybrid work options. Working with the Production Director, Chief Engineer and Operations teams, you will ensure all operational support resources are maintained, reviewed, and monitored in line with Company standards and statutory requirements. This includes production planning, cost control, creating and developing management information, KPI monitoring and providing necessary guidance, leadership, and direction to others within the team. You will hold overall responsibility in ensuring Health & Safety measures are in place and in line with legal requirements and regulations, leading the transformation through lean tools and techniques and establishing industrial working standards and timings.
As an Operations Manager, your responsibilities will include:
Ensure resources are directed and developed to achieve business targets and improve costs whilst ensuring compliance with quality standards and on-time performance
Establishing, assessing, monitoring, reviewing, and ensuring compliance with Health & Safety statutory requirements, including employer and public liability.
Maintain and manage current relationships with contractors, including catering contracts, machinery service contracts, cleaning, and waste disposal.
Be the first point of contact for all local authorities whilst ensuring the Company is adhering to any environment and social responsibilities
Working with the Production Director to develop effective, strategic and operational initiatives in line with Company strategy
With the Production Manager identify, instigate and manage change programmes to improve company efficiency and competitiveness
Ensure the ongoing review of plant, equipment, technology and processes
Monitor labour, equipment and material requirements against predicted volumes identifying any shortfalls/overages.
Creation and management of the annual budgetary and forecasting process, including machinery, maintenance and contracts
Maintenance and upkeep of all buildings and facilities
Managing of direct reports. Develop and maintain a highly productive motivated team by encouragement and promotion of open communication.
We are looking for an Operations Manager who has the following skills and experiences:
We are interested in candidates who have demonstrable experience in a process driven and regulated environment, such as manufacturing, automotive, or construction backgrounds
Engineering degree/experience is advantageous
NEBOSH qualification
Lean Six Sigma certification - green or black belt, or a similar certification
Project management experience and/or qualification, e.g. PRINCE2
Experience in leading and managing a team
Experience in using the following systems: SAP/ERP/MRP
Experience in leading culture change/transformation projects, using Lean or equivalent.
