SAS Training Manager (Ref: PY)

*THE ROLE*
As a SAS Training Manager, you will be responsible for the maintenance, coordination, creation and delivery of SAS training courses globally, including graduate training and development. You will assist in the creation of internal SAS training courses and other programming related training which will be delivered to programming and statistics functions.
You will assist in the coordination of our graduate training program which is delivered each year in three different geographical regions. You will help to maintain the course content, ensuring it is kept relevant, and will deliver training remotely and/or face to face (where applicable).
*Key Responsibilities:*
* Coordinate, develop and deliver graduate training across different geographical regions (6-week intense training course occurring multiple times throughout the year).
* Help to coordinate our internal training curriculum to ensure all staff are fully trained according to our SOPs and procedures.
* Develop and deliver internal training courses; identify non-technical training needs for functional staff.
* Act as independent technical expert in SAS programming.
* Identify further areas for training and development within the programming function.
* Contribute to the development, implementation and adherence to best practices and the PHASTAR checklist.
* Ensure the principles in the PHASTAR Discipline are followed rigorously.
* Point of contact for programming training needs/concerns.
* Training and mentoring line managers within the programming function.
* Resolve any obstacles for programming team members related to training.
* Support the review of programming related SOPs and ensure processes and practices reflect reporting requirements and training needs.
* Motivate and inspire others.
* Maintain visibility to external customers (e.g. white papers, blogs, LinkedIn posts etc).
*SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED*
* BSc, MSc or PhD in mathematics, science or IT related discipline
* Substantial SAS programming experience within a clinical trials environment (CRO or pharma)
* Expert SAS programmer with extensive knowledge of SAS procedures required for the reporting of clinical studies and submission activities
* Thorough understanding of CDISC (SDTM and ADaM) standards
* Understanding of regulatory requirements
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Excellent presentation skills
* Excellent organisational skills
* Ability and flexibility to work across global time-zones
* Previous experience as a trainer/Train the Trainer desirable
* Knowledge of R and Python would be an advantage
