Civils Team Leader

Role Profile:

Reporting to and tasked by the Supervisor locally, you will be employed to carry out Civils activities including, Excavation / Duct lay / Backfill / Reinstatement / Maintenance digs, clear blockages and pole lead-ins in the multiple surface categories to support the installation of optical fibre on the Openreach external network.

This Team Leader role will assist in the Compliance Management of Civils Operatives and be responsible for on Site Civils Equipment.

Any necessary training will be provided at our Chorley Training School and through external providers.

Typical Deliverables:

Safety - ensure that safe working practices are adopted as the top priority for all activities undertaken and that they are supported by all relevant documentation correctly completed.
Quality - ensure you work within the 'right first time' quality culture of tIS and that your work is always compliant to 'Openreach' installation standards.
Set up site in full accordance with NRSWA standards.
Adhere to safe dig practices at all times.
Complete milestone progress reports supported by photographs.
Ensure Operatives in team are compliant in approved working practices.
Ensure plant and Equipment is used correctly and in correct working order.
Complete POWRA and maintain visitors log.
Ensure all tooling is in good condition and calibrated in date where required.
All PPE is well maintained, suitable for purpose and worn at all times.
Excavate, backfill and manage spoil on site and submit supporting photographs.
Trenching & Duct Lay
Chamber & Box Building
Complete Hot & Cold Lay reinstatement in line with Section 72 standards.
Record quality and compliance throughout the works using the telent mobile app

Business Operations Skills - Experience:

2 - 5 years' experience of installation work in a telecoms environment.

Full UK driving licence
Driving CPC Accreditation.
CDM Awareness for Operatives
Gen Ops 1&2
DB1, DL1, CD1
SLEW1, ME1, FCFW1, FCCW1, TC34, TC55
