About Us
We are Qualifications Wales, the independent organisation responsible for regulating general and vocational qualifications in Wales. We focus on publicly funded qualifications, including GCSEs, A-Levels and vocational qualifications.
We are currently looking for a Regulatory Policy Officer to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis working 37 hours per week. We are also open to discussing requests for alternative working patterns, including part-time hours and job shares, during interview.

The Role
As a Regulatory Policy Officer, you will play a key, hands-on role in reviewing, revising and developing our regulatory documents.
As part of your role, you’ll work on a range of projects and will also be involved in researching, drafting and working on, and responding to, consultations. You will ensure quality publications and the effective implementation of these policies and procedures.
You will also conduct impact assessments, workshops and consultations to support policy development both within the team and across the organisation.
About You
To be considered as a Regulatory Policy Officer, you will need:
- Experience of policy development
- Experience working in a context related to regulation, the education sector and/or related fields
- Experience managing work effectively in a project environment
- Knowledge of the policy development process
- The ability to apply project management techniques
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
The ability to communicate through the medium of Welsh would be beneficial to your application.
Knowledge of the education and qualification system in Wales would be equally advantageous, as would knowledge of the key principles of good regulation.
