Energy Manager - Client side/In-house

Lewis Davey is thrilled to be working with a leading organisation that own commercial properties across the north of England and Birmingham in the UK. Lewis Davey is recruiting for a client side / In House Energy Manager to develop the sustainability of the building spaces across a broad portfolio for the future. Looking for an EPC skillset (level 3/4), there is the opportunity to obtain level 5; notably this isn't solely EPCs but if could be an ideal role for someone who wants to broaden their horizons. Working on existing building and doing simulations to get the buildings to net zero carbon. There is also the opportunity to develop junior member or staff; with a great culture and company values - this is a family-owned company who cares!
As the Energy Manager, you will hold a more ands on, more tangible workings on the existing buildings - so the opportunity to see the fruits of your labour! The company had multiple offices and there are exciting developments happening. An opportunity as an Energy Manager to have influence over a lot of areas in the business.
Role
??? Interrogate and analyse energy data and correlate with indoor environmental metrics
??? Undertake building energy modelling to help understand the impact of interventions using IES VE.
??? Carry out site energy surveys and audits
??? Identify and implement improvement strategies alongside multiple stakeholders
??? Benchmark energy use against industry standards and guidelines
??? Interpret and interrogate electrical and mechanical metering schematics
??? Keep up to date with relevant legislation, innovations and industry thinking
??? Implement energy efficiency measures and monitoring and report subsequent impact
??? Manage and prioritise own workload
??? Actively communicate learnings to relevant stakeholders throughout the business

What you will need to succeed

??? Confident and concise communicator
??? Ability to influence and negotiate
??? Experienced in the use of IES VE energy modelling software.
??? Knowledge and understanding of:
??? Current relevant legislation including Part L, J and F, ESOS, MEES, SECR
??? Building physics including:
??? Building services (traditional and innovative)
??? Building fabric (traditional and innovative)
??? Historic challenges and future thinking
??? Retrofit and new build challenges
??? Renewable energy systems
??? Building benchmarking (DEC / TM46 / NABERS / REEB / LER etc)
??? Energy modelling (CIBSE Guide F, SBEM, SAP, DSM etc)
??? Ability to work independently and as part of a team
??? Highly numerate and competent in Excel
??? Keen interest in sustainability within the built environment
??? Ability to understand and develop a business plan that satisfies the requirements of multiple stakeholders

Some or all of the following:

??? Commercial Energy Assessor type role
??? Thermal Modeller/ Building Physist
??? Experience in working with multi-tenanted commercial buildings
??? Experienc e in working with multiple stakeholders
??? Work in / with sustainability and/or ESG
??? Delivery of energy reduction projects / initiatives
??? Measurement and Verification

Qualifications
??? Level 5 Commercial EPC assessor
??? CIBSE Low Carbon Consultant (Design and Operation)
??? BREEAM Assessor
??? Technical, numerical based qualifications relating to the built environment
??? Sustainability related qualifications
??? Level 5 Commercial EPC assessor (desirable)
