The position is a crucial role working within the engineering/maintenance team & will focus on pro-active maintenance. This will help reduce engineering downtime and improve overall productivity. There will be a requirement to work alone on small tasks, as well as working within a team on larger scale activities with predetermined teams.

We are looking for a self driven and motivated individual is required. This positive attitude with provide the foundations to work with and understand the diverse equipment in use. The role holder will possess the capability to grow the role, and it is anticipated that sustained successful delivery within this role will lead to further opportunities within the business.

Key Accountabilities

Working within teams and encouraging correct behaviours;
Maintaining an up to date knowledge of OHSE legislation and taking the necessary steps to ensure Engineering compliance;
Completing the necessary one minute risk assessments for each job;
Challenging co-workers who are not working safely;
Promoting the use of the near miss system;
Carrying out behavioural audits;
Always working in a safe manner and reporting unsafe conditions
Onsite maintenance and engineering support for site assets to ensure OEE is maximised
Working on planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules
Completing planned maintenance tasks
Prioritising workload
Working in a positive manner and is open to a new tasks and challenges
Fully utilise Stock control systems including input, management and improvement activities associated within.
Training and development of co-workers as required i.e. apprentices and other maintenance department staff
Engineering Maintenance and fault finding on advanced industrial machinery; including, but not limited to, printing presses and blown film extrusion lines.
Trouble shooting on PLC and Drive systems.
Ensuring all work is carried out in a safe and compliant manner.
Working on a shift pattern, as part of a maintenance team providing 24hour, 7-day breakdown services for a busy manufacturing site.
Ability to use CMMS system for maintenance purposes.

Knowledge and Experience

Process knowledge/experience;
Problems solving skills;
Good organisational skills;
Experience of Operational Engineering within a Manufacturing environment;
Computer literate.
Experience of working on AC and DC systems up to 600V
Knowledge of PLC's, drives and control systems
Experience of CMMS systems
Time served Industrial Electrician
Experience in an Industrial engineering environment
ONC / HNC in Electrical Engineering
PLC systems
Electricity at Work Regulations
LV Switching
18th Edition Wiring Regulations (desirable)
COMPEX Training, Installation and Inspection and Testing (desirable)
IOSH Working Safely (desirable)
