Rewarding opportunity for an experienced Senior Scientist or Technical Lead with a solid background in developing novel materials and products in the energy storage sector!
Joining a diverse team of talented Scientists, you will provide technical and commercial direction across R&D and scale-up activities for products within the energy storage research group.
Key responsibilities:
* Accountable for research and development decisions at team level
* Deliver product development goals in energy storage
* Provide scientific guidance in the design, set-up and execution of experiments
* Participate in lab results analysis and interpretation - bridging between the experimental outputs and manufacturing practice
* When required, prepare internal documentation and reports required for regulatory documents
* Provide technical reports and presentations to internal and external stakeholders
* Offer technical mentorship and training to R&D and manufacturing teams
To be considered, you will have:
* A PhD/Eng.D level degree in a physical science or engineering discipline relevant to electrochemical cell research and development OR equivalent experience
* Relevant industrial experience and a track record of working within the development environment
* Strong experience within energy storage, applying key electrochemical techniques including galvanostatic cycling, voltammetry and EIS to drive improvement and understanding of cell performance
* Experience in electrolyte systems (such as gel, polymer, solid-state etc.) and clear understanding of the challenges being faced
* Extensive experience of cell failure mode analysis
* Ability to lead and manage the identification and resolution of research challenges
