Lead Data Engineer role and responsibilities.

As an Azure Lead Data Engineer joining the Data Insights and Analytics team. You will be responsible for:

• Building new data pipelines.
• Optimizing data flows using the Azure cloud stack.
• Supporting Business Analysts and Data Architects with the discovery and best practices.
• Supporting the data needs for the wider business across multiple teams, systems and products.

Lead Data Engineer skills and experience required:

• Being in a lead/ Senior engineer role where you have led teams to deliver projects.
• Experience working as a data pipeline engineer or data specialist.
• Strong Azure experience migrating data products from on-prem to Azure.
• Data Ingestion and Storage including Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Lake, Kafka and Spark Streaming, Azure EventHub/IoT Hub, and Azure Stream Analytics.
• Building and optimizing 'big data' data pipelines, architectures and data sets using Py-spark.
• Experience with Object-oriented/ object function scripting languages: Python.
