The Work Based Learning team are very proud to support Northampton College's culture of high standards, an inclusive working and learning environment, and a professional committed workforce who are focussed on supporting our students to achieve the best they possibly can. The team comprises of 20 trainers/assessors working in specific sector areas supporting employer and apprentices. The wider team consist of a dedicated business development and recruitment team, administration team and work experience/Industry Placement team of which you will work closely with to support the recruitment and engagement of apprentices and employers.

Role Specification
To deliver high quality training, assessment and support to students in their workplace on apprenticeship standards.
The postholder will carry a case load of students weighted according to the duties of this role. This will include training, coaching, mentoring and assessing apprentices through gateway to their End-point Assessment. The post holder will also support employers through the on-boarding process to completion of their apprentice to build strong relationships to promote progression and new business opportunities.

The post holder will undertake assigned responsibilities effectively and efficiently, and within regulatory and legislative requirements; achieve individual and departmental targets within the College's annual planning and staff performance review processes and budgetary constraints and:

To provide cover for teaching and or related activities.
Duties and Responsibilities
Carry out skills scan and induction of employers ensuring commitment in support of the student's agreed programme. This will include conducting a health and safety audit and risk assessment
To manage the overall learning programme for each student and ensure full compliance with the apprenticeship scheme including functional skills
Conduct skills scans and eligibility checks of potential students
Complete student enrolment and induction process once a suitable programme has been identified which meets the individual needs of the apprentice's career aspiration and their job role with the employer. This includes:
Conducting initial assessments including identifying any additional support/learning needs.
Agreeing and completing with each student an individual learning and assessment plan
Ensuring eligibility, and completing commitment statements, apprenticeship agreements and Service Level Agreements with apprentice and employer in line with ESFA funding guidelines.
Delivery process
Meet agreed targets agreed with the Apprentice Delivery Manager (ADM) to deliver overall volumes of students.
Maintain accurate tracking/records using Smart Assessor and other e-portfolio monitoring systems where appropriate which allows the ADM to monitor progress for all students.
To deliver and assess Qualifications in the industry specialism in the workplace
Working closely with curriculum and functional skills teams to support the delivery of practical workshops
To coach, train and assess the apprentice in the workplace to ensure that knowledge, skills and behaviours are achieved for passing gateway and pass their End-point Assessment (EPA)
To complete assessment visits and progress reports on each learner
To support the apprentice through gateway and End-point assessment process (EPA)
Complete regular progress and coaching reviews with apprentices and employers in compliance with quality and ESFA standards
Providing monthly reports to employers on progress of all aspects of the apprenticeship programme
Quality assessment
To meet the requirements of the Code of Practice as directed by Internal and External Quality Assurers.
To participate in formal quality monitoring activity which will include observations
To contribute to the course review procedures and action plans
Admin process
Completion of all Northampton College/SFA/ESF documentation relating to student/employer engagement, updating and making appropriate changes in compliance with the ESFA funding rules
Complete weekly diary of planned activities indicating location and timings of visits to ensure maximum time spent in purposeful activity with students and in line with lone working policy.
Sales support
Working closely with the Business Development team to promote College activity and recruit students.
Build relationships with new as well as existing employers; forward prospective leads through to the Business Development team.
Where appropriate and in liaison with the Business Development undertake specific promotional marketing activity, e.g. attending trade stands, careers events at schools, colleges and employers' premises and other organised events.
Encourage employer participation on Advisory Boards
