Supervisor - Stoke-on-Trent
* My client is looking for an experienced Supervisor / Senior Team Leader to join their highly successful manufacturing business based in Stoke-on-Trent.
* They occupy a modern production facility and are a progressive, people-focused business.
* Following a restructure to facilitate further growth, they are looking for an experienced Supervisor / Senior Team Leader.
The Role
* As Supervisor / Senior Team Leader, you lead the Manufacturing team to execute production planning on time, in full, at cost and with high quality to serve customer requirements.
* Apply the necessary CI (Continuous Improvement) tools and techniques to continuously improve the manufacturing processes, in compliance with QHSE and corporate policies to achieve agreed performance objectives.
* Manage and coach team to engage employees and develop skills as well as a culture of continuous improvement.
* Ensure consistent delivery of all KPI's across all shifts.
* Work with Process, Engineering, and CI Technicians in gathering data, identifying opportunities for improvements and driving business performance forward of a 'Continuous Improvement' culture in order to ensure opportunities for improvement are captured and implemented in a consistent way.
* Responsible for all shift activities related to a single multi-stage production line, including materials handling, manufacturing, packing, labelling and FLT handling.
* Extensive liaison with Planning, Process Engineering, Warehouse, Supply Chain, HSE, Quality and Engineering.
* Ensure the availability of skills and resources to deliver production plans in line with business strategy and KPI's.
The Candidate
* At least 3 years experience in Manufacturing or Engineering as a Supervisor / Senior Team Leader.
* Experience in working/leading in a continuous production facility is essential.
* Conversant with IT systems including Microsoft, SAP within a broader 'digitised environment' (e.g. SPC, ULTIMO, Power Bi) is required.
* Practical working knowledge of Lean and Continuous Improvement tools and techniques.
* Fully conversant and experienced with delivering KPI's and production plan delivery.
* Training and coaching of the teams to identify root causes and solve problems.
* Organised, confident and mature in approach.
* Will be able to demonstrate impact on the business by pointing to improvements in performance and trends.
* Willing and able to progress/improve technical knowledge further in embracing further Digitisation in the continual Continuous Improvement journey.
