Children’s Respite Service Night Support Worker | Glenfield and Melton, Leicester

Are you looking for a part-time or full-time career that will develop you, challenge you and allow you to make a difference in the lives of others?

At the Glenfield and Melton Projects, we have a clear mission of providing high quality overnight short breaks for children with severe learning disabilities. We have two services, side by side, in Glenfield, on the outskirts of Leicester where we offer a bespoke specialist service to local children on behalf of Leicestershire County Council. Our ethos is to ensure that all children accessing our services receive the best possible care and that their experience of the service is positive and one they look forward to. In order to promote this, we work hard to develop families’ and stakeholders’ confidence and trust in our care with a strong bent on safeguarding.

The Glenfield Project has four bedrooms and caters for children with profound and multiple learning Disabilities. The Melton Project is next door, also has four bedrooms and supports children with learning disabilities and behaviours that can challenge. Children are supported with all aspects of care and social skills in an inclusive environment where engagement and activities to stimulate learning and relaxation are encouraged.

Both Projects are operational 7 nights a week, providing services to approximately 55 children between the ages of 6 and 18 years.

Praxis Care wants to make a real difference in people’s lives by creating opportunities and collaborating with other agencies to promote the best possible outcomes for each young person.

We will ensure that staff have the necessary skills and knowledge to be able to deliver the specialist care and support required and encourage active learning opportunities and career progression. We therefore provide paid comprehensive training that all employees complete before taking up their new career within Praxis which will last for 2 weeks and covers all of the information and training you need.
