Independent Forgings and Alloys (IFA) is one of Britain’s leading independent aerospace and industrial forgers. The unique feature about IFA is the combination of open and closed-die forging while also undertaking the whole production process from raw material to the finished product in one location. Operating from a 680 000ft2 facility in Sheffield, we manufacture high-integrity, open-die and closed-die forged components in nickel alloy, titanium, stainless steel and carbon alloys for customers and tier-one suppliers within the aerospace, nuclear, power generation, marine as well as oil and gas sector.
Main Purpose of the Role
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will complete planned preventative maintenance tasks and install new plant equipment. Part of this job role is also to plan electrical maintenance tasks for completion during shutdown, develop and upgrade existing equipment along with completing reactive maintenance tasks and PAT testing as and when required.

Skills and Experience
Essential:
- Experience in a heavy duty industrial environment.
- Experience of fault finding, wiring and instrumentation work.
- Preventative maintenance (PPM)
- Reactive maintenance and fault finding on PLC.
- Pro-active and self-motivated personality.
- Ability to work under own initiative and as part of a team.
Desirable:
- Ideally, you have experience in PAT testing as well as hydraulics and pneumatics.
- Experience in multi-skilled working (hydraulic and pneumatic).
Qualifications
Essential:
- a fully skilled Electrician who has an NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) and who has a 17th Edition qualification
