Responsibilities:

Ensure full coverage of the animal welfare, lairage & weighbridge during production.
Weigh the vehicle on arrival and its departure.
Complete & verify all records and paperwork for welfare checks and other checks in line with your duties. Including RTA status
Animal welfare-ensure the checking of all livestock on arrival, improve the feedback procedure to Technical Manager & Factory Manager.
Ensuring the intake plan is achieving a seamless flow of birds for the factory without compromising bird welfare or the factory running out of livestock. Report stoppages.
Modify the intake schedule in consideration of the prevailing weather condition. Report localised weather to the transport manager.
You are the coordinating point for factory management, transport & planning- you know the functionality of the plant communicating to the outside world is your responsibility.
Ensure vehicles are cleaned and disinfected to the correct standard proper prior to leaving site.
Ensure all equipment, ventilation, pressure washers & fork trucks are in full and safe working condition.
Safe work procedures of fork truck drivers are specified to achieve minimum distress to bird welfare.
Keep the computerised live bird up to date in the weigh bridge office.
Investigate & report Dead on Arrival, identifying why they have occurred and suggesting ways of improving.
Taking part in welfare audits, meeting with regulating bodies.
Supervising ABP storage & labelling to comply with ABP standards.
Communicating with the drivers and adjusting the ETA of the vehicles to match the unloading schedule of the factory.
Review CCTV footage on a daily basis, ensuring all camera are working, in good condition and the picture is clear. Record findings and report any non conformance's to factory manager.
Follow up any require actions to ensure site complies with animal welfare standards.
Trend animal welfare data and report to relevant parties.
Ensure animal welfare, breakdown & hot weather procedures are followed, reporting all incidents and logging feedback and any corrective actions.
Once in the lairage-check to see Is there physical damage to the frame and draw.
Monitor daily activities by staff working with live birds (up to end of life) to verify that animal welfare standards are maintained. Provide feedback and training to employees.

Rate of pay: GBP10.50 to GBP11.00 per hour (depending on experience),

Shift pattern: Hours between 05:30-20:00 Rota based (shift 9 hours with 1hr&15min break) Monday to Friday.

(Occasional Saturday's (06:00-15:00) paid at 1.5 rate)

Candidates must have their own transport due to hours of work and location of site.
