Salary: GBP20, 982 (GBP10.76 per hour)
Location: Cuprum Building, 480 Argyle Street, Glasgow
Shifts: Full time 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday, shifts between 8am - 8pm and Saturday 9am - 5.30pm on a rotational basis.
Training Duration: 3 weeks on site
Contract: Permanent
What's the opportunity?
We have an exciting opportunity to join our talented New Business team as an Affordability Assessor to play a key role in confirming the affordability of customer applications by carrying out income and expenditure checks for all bank statement application to ensure they meet the minimum criteria that has been set.
This roles' primary responsibility is to review all applications, submitted via web-based application system, to check that all proofs from application to pay-out are in line with policy rules, and ensure that customer income documentation are correct and support the lending decision. The processor will be responsible for ensuring that all applications and decisioning are in line with lending rules, criteria, and policy, including referral applications. The processor will be responsible for confirming the affordability by carrying out income checks for all payslip affordability applications.
Key tasks:
Review customer applications, agreements, affordability proofs and, customer and dealer documentation proofs against a set of criteria to ensure that the application, affordability decision and payout are correct.
Reject pay-out or affordability proofs if application is missing information, incorrect or not in line with our lending criteria.
When affordability or pay-out applications do meet all the criteria, input relevant details into our in-house systems and provide our brokers with acceptance and pay-out confirmation.
Work with different departments to ensure completion of processes
Understand the rules and regulations within the referrals process
Reviewing of Credit Searches from potential customers
Adhere to the FCA Conduct rules
Adhoc duties such as exception reporting checks.
The person specification:
Needs to have an exceptionally high level of attention to detail, possess high energy levels and be able to demonstrate excellence in best practice
Must be able to apply business rules and criteria with 100% consistency and accuracy.
Must be able to work to targets
Effective, courteous, and timely communication with internal and external stakeholders.
The ability to work well under pressure to meet critical deadlines
Must be articulate and have a good level of PC literacy
Requires a high level of confidence in their own decision making and the confidence to push payout applications back to introducers or not sign them off as appropriate
Requires resilience and determination.
Ability to operate on their own initiative and in a team environment
Ability to multitask
Ability to work between 8am -8pm Monday to Friday and Saturday 9am-5.30pm (rotational basis)
