* Are you experienced within a production/warehouse environment?
* Do you have an eye for detail with good literacy and numeracy skills?
Due to the continued success of our client based in Peterborough, they are expanding their team and have vacancies for one full time, experienced Materials Handlers to join their existing team.
This full time, permanent position will primarily covering a Monday to Friday.
A key member of the warehouse, the Material Handler will be responsible for all material movements within the factory and the warehouse, including unloading and loading vehicles and moving finished goods and raw materials within the factory.
Diligent and organised, the Material Handler will contribute to a positive culture within the warehouse and ensure all material moves are carried out in the safest, most efficient and most productive manner.
Main responsibilities
* Responsible for goods receipt, including unloading vehicles, performing and recording goods-in checks (physical inspection, paperwork checks), booking materials into stock and putting materials away in the relevant storage areas.
* Responsible for preparing all outbound deliveries including loading export containers, and pick & packing of smaller orders for local sales.
* Responsible for internal material moves, particularly transfer of packaging materials for filling hall/supply hoppers, transfer of ingredients and consumable to process and utilities areas, and transfer of finished goods from the filling hall to the warehouse.
* Responsible for carrying out quality control checks in their work area, as requested by the Quality Department.
* Responsible for performing inventory checks on all goods (raw materials and finished goods) as requested.
* Responsible for ensuring their work area complies with hygiene and cleanliness standards at all time, including completion of hygiene audits.
* Responsible for complying with site safety rules, as well as all other safety, quality and environmental requirements relevant to their work area. Responsible for reporting hazardous workplace conditions.
* Contributes to continuous improvement activities.
Skills, knowledge and experience
* Previous experience of working in FMCG environment, ideally in a manufacturing environment.
* Good time and organisation skills.
* Fluent English speaker, with proficiency in reading, writing and speaking.
