Based in Cheltenham/Remote (60/40 split)

A new opportunity has come through for a Data Engineer to join the team where you will get stuck straight into driving the migration of the data warehouse into the cloud and developing a new data warehouse to support strong growth ambitions over the coming years. You will work closely with stakeholders to support a wide range of data-driven solutions.

Our client will be looking for your experience in:

• Developing a data warehouse.
• Working on a cloud platform would be advantageous (preferably Snowflake) or the willingness to take your existing skills and adapt them to a cloud platform.
• Developing and maintaining ETL As above, experience of working on a cloud platform would be advantageous or the willingness to take your existing ETL skills and adapt them to the cloud.
• Good understanding of data warehousing design techniques
• Good understanding of relational database structures
• Strong SQL querying skills
• Good understanding of SSIS
• Familiarity with source control systems such as GitHub or Azure DevOps
• Good understanding of GDPR and principles of data masking and/or anonymisation

Experience of the following would be advantageous:

• PowerBI data models
• AWS RDS, Athena or similar cloud services
• PowerShell
• Python
• Cloud ETL/ELT design patterns (batch vs Real Time etc.)
• Database deployment pipelines or CI/CD processes
• Experience of dealing with less structured/unstructured data
• Experience of working as part of a SCRUM team also an advantage

This company does not hold back when it comes to training! As the organisation are currently in the process of migrating to AWS, you can be assured that you will be fully trained in this to ensure that you can contribute to the migration going forward.
