A small, but established company, specialising in researching and advising on Japanese equities, and regulated by the FCA, is looking to expand their business and are seeking a trainee in Equities Research Analysis. You will work with and be trained every step of the way by highly experienced professionals within a team oriented and rewarding environment. No previous equity research analysis experience is necessary. You will need both fluent Japanese and native level English. This will be an excellent chance to put your Japanese to effective use daily, gain new skills and receive on-the-job training.
Role:
- Researching various markets as well as analysing how each client performs within their market
- Communicating with Japanese businesses and collecting information on their investor relations
- Developing Japanese equity reports based on research, which will be read by institutional investors
- Training to become a Japanese equity research analyst
The role requires the following:
Applicants must have a strong reading and speaking ability in Japanese, including ability to process large amounts of financial materials written in Japanese and a high level of fluency for having high level business (at least JLPT N2 level skills). In addition, applicants must have a strong ability to develop equity reports in English.

Salary: GBP20-25k pa
Location: Burton-upon-Trent, near Derby
-The first year will completely onsite training. Remote work will be applied once you finish this year and develop sufficient skillsets.
Hours: Monday - Friday, 07.00 - 16.30
