SF Recruitment are currently working with a fantastic manufacturing business based in Birmingham. They are looking to bring on board a Cost Management Accountant, with prior experience working within a manufacturing environment, to take responsibility for one of the businesses integral entities.
Largely working autonomously but reporting into the Financial Controller, you will undertake a variety of tasks to ensure the accurate reporting of your allotted entity. Qualified, part-qualified or qualified by experience Accountants will be considered providing they have the ability to hit the ground running and have demonstrable experience working in a similar, fast paced manufacturing business.
Key tasks:
- Main contact for business unit managers for financial information.
- Ensure projects such as Installation, maintenance and repairs are correctly accounted for.
- Reconciliation of R&D projects.
- Apportionment of overhead by allocation models.
- Conduct inventory management with all relating financial ratios.
- Ensure the slow-moving inventories are fully provisioned.
- Ensure that the stock and scrap reconciliations are completed.
- Preparation of consolidated profit and loss.
- Reconciliation of inter-company trading accounts.
- Month end accruals and review of overheads.
- Adhere to month end, budget, ad-hoc and Group deadlines.
- Group monthly reporting.
- Analyse, communicate monthly reports and advise departments about production variances and gross margins.
- Preparation of BU department management accounts.
- Preparation of BU annual budget.
- Manage productivity savings and capital expenditure.
- VAT Returns and associated tasks.
- Maintenance of Fixed Asset Registers.
- Control Account Reconciliations.
- Government Statistics, Intrastat, EC Sales.
- Bonus Reconciliation.
- Analysis of Samples issued.
- Internet banking authorisation.
- Liaise with auditors as and when required.
