JR are working with a West Bridgford based distribution business to find a hands on and operational Assistant Warehouse Manager. You will be a great people manager with strong experience of using computerised systems/data bases. Reporting into the Operations Manager you will manage across two warehouses ensuring the smooth and efficient running.
Ensuring both sites are a well oiled machine, you will be very much shop floor based and still involved in the lifting and shifting of heavy goods.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate, manage and monitor the dispatch, receipt and transferring of goods
Organise the recruitment and training of staff, as well as monitoring staff performance and progress
Motivate, organise and encourage teamwork within the workforce to ensure productivity targets are met or exceeded
Brief team leaders and members of the team on a daily basis
Use space and mechanical handling equipment efficiently, making sure quality, budgetary targets and environmental objectives are met
Keep stock control systems up to date and make sure inventories are accurate
Respond to and deal with customer and other departments communication by email and telephone
Produce regular reports and statistics on a daily, weekly and monthly basis
Maintain standards of health and safety, as well in the work environment
Oversee the planned maintenance of machinery, forklift trucks and equipment
Liaise with customers, suppliers and transport companies
Key Skills
Strong and demonstrated leadership skills in a similar role
Good understanding of stock management
Critical thinking and analytical ability
Technical and IT skills, particularly when it comes to database management and spreadsheets
Problem-solving skills and the ability to work on a tactical and strategic level
Experience of recruiting new team members and the onboarding process is essential
