Tradewind Recruitment is currently looking for enthusiastic Youth worker, to work in one of our partnership schools in Blackburn. The Alternative Provision school caters for pupils from 8- 16-year-old with and Ofsted rating "Good". The school require a Youth Worker who has worked with challenging behaviour within Secondary and Primary aged children. The role is full time Monday - Friday 8.00am - 3.30 pm working across KS2 and KS3 additionally you may be required to do some 1-2-1 intervention session with literacy and numeracy with several students.
The Alternative Provision works with pupils from age 8 - 16 years old. Classes are delivered on a small group basis session with a full-time flexible timetable, 1:1 session. The school provide rich and varied curriculum opportunities ranging from vocational courses and academic programmes that support pupils' personal and social development. They are a welcoming secondary school with a bus stop right outside and offsite free parking onsite.

Encourage the development of positive attitudes to learning and behaving through well-planned support.
Have a creative and innovative approach to understand and supporting to re-engage disaffected learners in education and overcome barriers to learning.
Support on a 1-2-1
Monitor pupil learning, social, emotional and behavioural progress against targets and report to the teachers of any changes.
Be aware of Safeguarding and Behaviour policies of the settings you work in and adhere to the policies at all times.
Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible
