The Company

Waterhouse Electrical Ltd is a customer-focused contractor specialising in installation, design, testing and compliance for all electrical, security, emergency lighting and life safety systems throughout Scotland and the North of England.

They are currently seeking an Estimator to join the Waterhouse Electrical team on a permanent, full-time basis and play a key role in their Management Team.

The Role

As an Estimator, you will be responsible for accurately estimating and quoting electrical projects, ensuring sustainable use of labour and materials.

A key member of the Management Team, you will support the Sales and Operations Teams with large tender opportunities, providing estimation schedules for time and materials for electrical installations. These will include lighting solutions (internal and external), power supplies, data cabling (Cat 5 and Cat 5), fire detection, vehicle charger points, Wifi and allied systems.

In addition, you will deliver work for testing and inspection services in industrial and commercial markets, as well as championing health and safety, ensuring it is adopted at a cultural level.

In this role, you will also:

- Interpret technical drawings and/or bill of quantities to create detailed estimates
- Provide support with design and layout of systems to assist the Installation Team
- Support the Sales Director with bids and/or tenders for new business opportunities

About You

To be considered as an Estimator, you will need:

- Proven experience in creating estimation schedules of time and materials for generalist electrical installations as well as testing and inspection services
- Strong commercial acumen
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and multitask multiple projects
